Regl. 2024: Minor, Electives, Science in Perspective
Minors
Minor courses offer knowledge and training beyond the core subject. The following minors are available for selection:
- Human Nutrition (only available in connection with the major Food Science and Technology)
- Food Processing (only available in connection with the major Nutrition and Health)
- Statistical Methods in Food Science and Nutrition
- Consumer and Sensory Science
- Agri-Food Chain
- Food Safety
Electives
Electives allow students to tailor their studies to their own interests. Electives can be chosen from any courses offered by ETH Zurich or University of Zurich*.

Science in Perspective
- The study programme Science in Perspective is offered by the Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS).
- The aim of these courses is to make the connection between expertise and action and societal and economic issues.
- For the completion of the Master's programme at least 3 credit points have to be taken in the area of Science in Perspective.
- Courses in educational science which are part of the teacher training (Didactic Certificate) can also be counted as Science in Perspective courses.
