HEST Association of Scientific Staff (HAS)

The D-HEST Association of Scientific Staff (HAS) consists of and represents all non-faculty academic staff of the relatively young Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST). The HAS was founded on 4 February 2013 and became a member of the AVETH just one month later.
The HAS board was elected at the founding meeting and is formed by the president, the vice-president, and the representatives and deputies from each of the four D-HEST pillars: Movement Sciences and Sport, Food and Nutrition, Medical Engineering, and Neuroscience. The elected delegates of HAS take part in the departmental conference as well as in the two teaching commission conferences.
The objectives of the HAS are to ensure equal representation of everyone within the department and to foster fruitful collaboration between its diverse scientific members, who work all over Zurich: from Hönggerberg, Schwerzenbach, Irchel, and Zentrum campuses to Balgrist, Psychiatry, and University Hospitals. Therefore, the HAS organizes engaging events to promote exchange and interaction among its scientists. For example, graduate sessions at the annual D-HEST Research Day were organized and social events in the respective institutes have been supported.
Committed to implement its members’ feedback, further social activities such as a newcomer’s welcome event, lecture series, and company visits might be planned for the future as means to assist community building.
All members of the D-HEST are cordially encouraged to participate in the HAS events. If you have ideas, questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us or approach your pillar’s representative directly.
The HAS looks forward to a bright, collaborative future in the D-HEST.
