Simone Schürle-Finke receives Dr. Ernst Th. Jucker award

Simone Schürle-Finke, Professor of Responsive Biomedical Systems at D-HEST, has received the Dr. Ernst Th. Jucker Prize. She was honored for her innovative research on microsystems for cancer therapy.

The prize was awarded to Simone Schürle-Finke in particular for her work "Magnetic torque-driven living microrobots for increased tumor infiltration".

The prize, which serves the memory of Dr. Ernst Th. Jucker, a physician who died in 1972 in the town of Thalwil, honors outstanding scientific work in the field of cancer research.

The prize was awarded on May 11, 2023, during a seminar lecture at the University of Zurich. It was awarded to two researchers this year. In addition to Simone Schürle-Finke, Nicola Aceto, Professor of Molecular Oncology at the Department of Biology at ETH Zurich, received the award.
