Johannes Bohacek Runner-Up for ALEA Award 2024

The ALEA and Diversity Awards initiated by AVETH were presented on November 26, 2024, at a joint ceremony with the Vice Presidency for Personnel Development and Leadership (VPPL). Johannes Bohacek, Professor of Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience at D-HEST, was among the finalists for the ALEA Award.

The ALEA Award was initiated by AVETH, the Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich. It honors leaders who demonstrate exemplary leadership, support and encourage their team members, and treat them with respect and appreciation.

Every year, assistants, doctoral students, senior assistants, postdocs and senior research associates can vote for leaders they would like to recognize for their leadership behavior. This year's winner were the co-leaders of the Microbial Systems Ecology Group at Eawag/ETH Zurich, Dr Olga Schubert and Prof Dr Martin Ackermann.

Prof Dr Johannes Bohacek, Professor of Molecular Neuroscience and Behavior Research at D-HEST, was one of two finalists.
