ETH medal for six doctoral theses at D-HEST
At the request of the department, the Rector of ETH Zurich awards a total of six doctoral theses at D-HEST with the ETH medal 2024. Congratulations!
The following doctoral students will be honored for their achievements:
Giorgia Greter - title of the thesis: "Microbial symphony: Unraveling gut secrets through breath, rhythms, and clusters", carried out under the supervision of Prof Emma Slack, Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health
Stephanie Huwiler - title of the thesis: "Functional role of sleep slow waves in cardiovascular health", carried out under the supervision of Prof Nicole Wenderoth, Institute of Human Movement Sciences and Sport
Tonghui Jin - title of the thesis: "NAmyloid fibrils as a platform for multifunctional biomaterials", carried out under the supervision of Prof Raffaele Mezzenga, Institute of Food, Nutrition and Health
Inseon Kim - title of the thesis: "Molecular characterization of directly reprogrammed myogenic progenitor cells and their utility for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering", carried out under the supervision of Prof Ori Bar-Nur, Institute of Human Movement Sciences and Sport
Michael Soutschek - title of the thesis: "Regulatory effects of human microRNAs in synapse development", carried out under the supervision of Prof Gerhard Schratt, Institute for Neuroscience
Matthias Walle - title of the thesis: "Mechanoregulation of Bone Remodelling in Diabetes Mellitus using High-Resolution Peripheral Quantitative Computed Tomography In Vivo Patient Data", carried out under the supervision of Prof Ralph Müller, Institute for Biomechanics
