Professor Marcy Zenobi-Wong promoted to Full Professor at D-HEST
28 Sep 2020 - The ETH Board has promoted Professor Marcy Zenobi-Wong, currently Associate Professor at ETH Zurich, as Full Professor of Tissue Engineering and Biofabrication in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology. Quote ETH News: "Marcy Zenobi-Wong’s research interests focus on cartilage repair and biofabrication. Thanks to her acknowledged expertise in bioprinting as well as two-photon polymerisation, polymer chemistry and tissue biology, she is a leading specialist in the development and application of new biomaterials. Her ability to combine mechanical and biological perspectives allows Marcy Zenobi-Wong to pursue innovative paths as she applies the latest knowledge of cellular and mechanobiology to regeneration methods in tissue engineering."
Dr. René Rossi awarded the title "Professor" at ETH Zurich
18 May 2020 - The ETH Board has awarded Dr. René Rossi, lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich and Deputy Head of the Materials Meet Life department at Empa, as Adjunct Professor at ETH Zurich. Quote ETH News: "René Rossi studies the interactions between materials and the human body. He also participates in leading national and European research projects such as Zurich Heart and CCMX."
New professors at D-HEST: Nicholas Bokulich and Carlo Menon
6 March 2020 - The ETH Board appointed two new professors at D-HEST:
Dr Nicholas Bokulich, currently a postdoctoral researcher at Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, USA, as Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Food Systems Biotechnology. Quote ETH News: "Nicholas Bokulich’s research concentrates on complex microbial communities in human beings as well as in foods and the environment. He also focuses on the biotic and abiotic factors that influence the diversity and characteristics of these complex microbial ecosystems. Nicholas Bokulich uses the very latest bioinformatic analysis methods. His appointment strengthens ETH Zurich’s research in the field of complex microbial ecosystems."

Professor Carlo Menon, currently Full Professor at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada, as Full Professor of Biomedical and Mobile Health Technology. Quote ETH News: "Carlo Menon’s research interests bring together the fields of biomedical technology, biosignal processing, robotics and smart materials. He and his group are developing inconspicuous wearable technologies for monitoring, supporting and treating older adults and persons with chronic diseases. Carlo Menon’s appointment enables ETH Zurich to strengthen the areas of medical and rehabilitation technology and the recently launched Rehab Initiative."
