Swiss Oncology Summer School

From Basic Research to Clinical Applications

This exciting summer course is open to all medical students – in any year of study, with a good understanding of English.
As the incidence of cancer increases not only in Switzerland but worldwide, there is a great need for highly trained and educated oncologists and medical doctors in the field of oncology.

We are offering 25 students the opportunity to meet with internationally renowned oncologists and scientists and to explore the broad field of oncology and learn about the promising innovations as well as newly approved drugs, treatments and diagnostic tools.
Each day of the course is dedicated to a different type of cancer. Together with the oncologist, you will meet patients, receive lectures and an overview of applied cancer research as well as participate in clinical rounds and laboratory activities. You will work in groups to discuss and propose therapies and diagnostics for the patient, and present your research ideas and clinical proposals to the rest of the team.
The Summer School will take place in the wonderful and beautiful alpine region of Gruyères and of course you will be involved in social activities as well!

The experience and content of this summer school course will be highly relevant whether you are considering a career in oncology or not. All doctors need a greater knowledge and understanding of this important field.
