Additional information

Bregje de Wildt is a postdoctoral research fellow and lecturer at the Institute for Biomechanics at ETH Zurich. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven (2015, cum laude). She continued her studies at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam where she obtained her Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences (2018). In November 2018 she joined the Orthopaedic Biomechanics group at the Biomedical Engineering Department of Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD Candidate. In her research, she worked under the supervision of Dr. Sandra Hofmann and Prof. Dr. Keita Ito on tissue engineering of in vitro human bone models. In 2020, she was an awardee of the Materials Driven Regeneration Young Talent Incentives program, which allowed her to visit the Mechanobiology Laboratory of Prof. Dr. Laoise McNamara at the National University of Ireland Galway in the summer of 2021. Bregje de Wildt obtained her PhD degree in November 2022 and received multiple awards for her dissertation, including the best thesis award (2021 – 2023) of the Netherlands society for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. In March 2023, Bregje de Wildt joined the Laboratory for Bone Biomechanics of Prof. Dr. Ralph Müller and the Biomaterials Engineering Laboratory of Prof. Dr. Xiao-Hua Qin at ETH Zurich where she works on biofabrication and in situ biomineralization strategies for advanced in vitro bone models. For her postdoctoral research, she received a prestigious Rubicon Fellowship from the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
