Area of Interest
We focus on the development of knowledge and tools for treatment of neurologically disabled
(amputations, diabetes, stroke, SCI) persons, based on the deep understanding achieved through the
computational modeling of nervous system. We are acting in an interdisciplinary environment,
composed of work in electronics, programming, physiological and clinical expertise. Main application
areas are the fields of assistive devices, rehabilitation and bioelectronics medicine.
Prerequisites a student should comply with
Basic knowledge of physics and programming. Most important: enthusiasm and motivation to learn.
Recommended master courses (Electives) of Learning Agreement of the Major
Rehabilitation Engineering
Research projects of the group
We are running projects developing human-machine interfaces for:
i) Diabetic neurophaty Neuroprosthesis
ii) Computational modelling of nervous system
iii) Quadriplegia/Stroke upper limb
iv) Paraplegia/ Stroke lower limb
v) Pain understanding and treatment
