Prerequisites a student should comply with

The overarching theme of our work is to derive an understanding of human toxicity on the basis of toxicant chemical structure and reactivity. We focus largely on chemicals relevant to the human diet, and biochemical processes involving nucleic acids. A motivation for the work is to further the relationship of these interactions with initiation or treatment of cancer. Students interested in Toxicology research should have good knowledge in chemistry and biochemistry. From a practical perspective, research in our lab may be addressed by experimental techniques including synthetic organic chemistry, biophysical analysis, enzymological biochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry.
