Research area

My research focuses on in silico models of osteoporosis and its treatments. My goal is to develop a tool to quickly and inexpensively model the effect of different treatment types and timings on a patient's bone. This tool is a cell-scale multiphysics finite element model that integrates cell population dynamics, production reaction and diffusion of substances in bone as well as mechanics to predict morphometric and dynamic features of bone over periods of up to 10 years. Currently, I am focused on calibrating this model using data from in vivo studies and clinical trials.

Charles Ledoux is a PhD student at the Laboratory for Bone Biomechanics. He studied Chemical Engineering and received his BSc degree from McGill University in 2017 and his MSc degree from Politecnico di Milano in 2019.
